Poppin PDF Pattern

Poppin is one of a range of Dream Bird patterns by Jo Avery.

With her cheerful pink breast the poppin is a common garden visitor throughout the year. Gardeners will be very familiar with her presence as she waits patiently for a worm to appear, hopping up and down and wagging her green and blue tail. The poppin has one of the prettiest songs, with a wide repertoire and the ability to mimic other sounds. However unlike most birds it is the female who does all the singing while the male only issues a dull squawk!

 Requirements

• 9” x 9” background fabric
• Scraps of different coloured fabric for bird
• Water soluble pen or similar
• Matching thread for appliqué. I recommend Aurifil 80wt cotton
• Embroidery threads in a range of colours to coordinate or contrast with your fabric. I recommend Aurifil 12wt wool
• Suitable needles for both weights of thread
• Clover Appliqué Pins (optional)
