Jo's classic New York Beauty Brigade Quilt is now available as a one-off pattern!
Would you like to make a show stopping quilt that makes people gasp?! Well it's easier than it looks, it just takes a bit of practice and a lot of patience.
This traditional pattern has been a favourite of mine since I first saw it 35 years ago and I've been playing around with the design ever since.
My version of the New York Beauty design uses the classic block and then just rotates it to add movement and contrast. It uses Foundation Paper Piecing to create the spiky curves. The blocks can also be used to create stunning cushion covers.
Pattern contains templates and instructions to make a 74” square quilt.
Fabric requirements:
A good selection of different coloured patterned fabric, 5 yds in total or 20 Fat Quarters
1¾ yards of white/cream/low-volume fabric for the spikes
½ yard for the inner border
1¼ yards for the outer border
78” piece of batting
4½ yards of fabric for backing
2/3 yard fabric for binding
