Although I have previously stitched versions of this design as both an embroidery hoop and a modern quilt. In this cushion version needle turn appliqué is used to stitch brightly coloured fabric to some areas of the pattern while background fabric is left empty in between, both are then filled with embroidery embellishment and big stitch hand quilting.
